Uganda National Content

Neo Energy is fundamentally committed to maximizing the retention of shared value in Uganda. We ensure that our comprehensive operations across the petroleum, green energy, and industrial sectors are a core driver of sustainable socio-economic development, fully aligning with the National Content Policy for Uganda. Our strategy is built upon three integrated pillars, designed to create long-term capacity and competitiveness for Ugandan citizens and enterprises:

2. Local Procurement and Enterprise Empowerment

We prioritize the use of locally produced goods and services to empower domestic suppliers and build the capacity of Ugandan enterprises. Preferential Sourcing: We maximize procurement from registered Ugandan suppliers for goods and services across our operations, including: Fuel & Lubricant Supply: Partnering with local transporters and suppliers for the distribution of bulk fuels and our in-house Neo Lubricants brand. Drilling Consumables: Prioritizing local companies for the supply of industrial raw materials and drilling consumables (e.g., Cement, Bentonite) as needed for our Energy Support Services. Standards & Certification: We actively support supplier development with programs aimed at educating local companies on how to meet the rigorous Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) standards, which are critical for the energy industry.

1. Developing Ugandan Manpower & Expertise

We actively invest in developing the competencies of Ugandan citizens to excel within the specialized energy sector. Internal Capacity Building: We are building our internal capacity through continuous internal trainings, industrial placements, and mentorship programs. The long-term goal is to develop in-depth, high-level expertise in areas like specialized O&G Support Services and advanced EPC project management. Employment Priority: Promoting internships and attachments within our operations, ensuring Ugandans are preferentially hired for technical and managerial roles across our integrated logistics and supply chain.

3. Knowledge Transfer and Sector Diversification

We foster partnerships that bring new technology and skills to the country, supporting the policy's goal of economic diversification and industrialization. Fostering Joint Ventures: We actively encourage and support the formation of strategic joint ventures between international technical partners and local companies to facilitate the transfer of competencies and technologies, particularly in specialized areas like EPC Turnkey Projects and Energy Audits. Pioneering Green Technology: Our commitment to PPP Projects (Mini Hydro, Wind, Solar, Hydrogen) actively drives knowledge transfer and investment in the emerging renewable energy sub-sector, securing a future-ready economy for Uganda. Market Analysis Support: Providing expert Consultancy Services and market reviews that support informed investment and the strategic growth of the wider Ugandan energy sector.
